Dr Oluseyi Philip Oladijo was born in Abeokuta, Nigeria. He received his BEng degree in metallurgical and materials engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria. In 2013, he received his PhD degree in Material Science and Engineering field from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. Dr. Oladijo then joined the Department of Chemical, Materials and Metallurgical Engineering at the Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST), as a Lecturer, in 2015 and later Senior Lecturer in 2017. He have so far demonstrated abilities through numerous research publications, collaborations, supervising students and faithful dedication to educating and empowering future engineers. In the last Ten years, he has published six (6) book Chapters and Fifty one (60) papers in high impact journals and one (1) book. Dr Oladijo has also graduated several Masters and PhD students. He also form several collaboration in both national and international level, hence well-known globally in his research field. Abased on his expartee, Dr Oladijo has form collaboration with Rtec instrument, California, USA on a project involving the investigation of optimum parameters selection for their equipment (UNIVERSAL TRIBOMETER). This project was bestowed on him base on expertise in the field of coatings, and still ongoing. Inaddition, his also doing a collaboration with the Integrated Surface Technology, California, USA on project involving the use of hydrophobic and superhydrophobic organic coatings to mitigate electro-chemical corrosion in flexible electronic assembles. He is also a Senior Research Fellow with the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. Currently, his research interests are focused on surface coatings and thin films, tribology, residual stress analysis, advanced characterization techniques using synchrotron and neutron light sources and the manufacturing of fibre composites from which he has already published several peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Oladijo is a registered member of many professional bodies which include Materials Science and Technology Society of Nigeria (MSN), European Thermal Spraying Association (ETSA), and African Light Source (AFLS). Dr Oladijo is currently members of the scientific committee of the XtechLab in Bennie city due to his contribution to the Africa region. His one of the course lecturer for the younger researchers at the workshop organized for the junior researcher across the Africa by b XtechLab. Dr Oladijo is one of the researchers in the use of synchrotron techniques for materials in the region. This approach has earned him an international recognition accolade or status in this field as exemplified by his nomination to Chair an international African Light Source Conference (AfLS4 – 2022 and 2023) at the Botswana International University of Science & Technology that has attracted more several participants from all over the world.
