Biography

Full Professor Manuel Oliveira (Retired) had a 46 years career as professor and researcher in several higher education and research institutions in Portugal, USA, Chile, Spain and East Timor. Prof. Manuel Oliveira has expertise in soil science, agriculture and crop systems, environmental physiology, water in soil-plant continuum, viticulture and enology. Prof. Manuel Oliveira has dedicated his work to sustainability of agricultural systems and crops under the influence of observed shifts in climatic variables. Prof. Manuel Oliveira has a long editorial experience as member of editorial council of Plant & Soils, book editor for IntechOpen, and regular reviewer for a number of scientific journals. Actually, Prof. Manuel Oliveira still maintains his editorial activity professionally and his association with his university.
