Biography

Dr Milan K. Sadan is a Marie Curie Fellow/UKRI Guarantee Fund Postdoctoral Fellow at Dyson School of Design Engineering, Imperial College London. His current work focuses on the development of self-healing batteries. He has been involved in battery materials research since 2012 and has expertise in various battery chemistries such as lithium-ion, sodium-ion, potassium-ion, and sulfur batteries. Prior to joining Imperial, he worked as a Faraday Institution Research Fellow at the University of Sheffield, where he developed solvent-free battery fabrication technology and formulated all-dry-electrode full cells for sustainable lithium-ion batteries. Dr. Milan also served as a Senior Researcher at the Research Institute for Green Energy Technology, South Korea, where he developed sustainable sodium and potassium-ion batteries. He earned his PhD from Gyeongsang National University, South Korea, during which he was associated with the pioneers of room-temperature sodium sulfur batteries. Besides academic research, Milan also serves on the editorial boards of Materials Today Communications and Oxford Open Energy Journal. He is also active in various professional organisations like the International Younger Chemist Network (IYCN), Volta Foundation, Royal Society of Chemistry and Renewable Energy Research Institute.
