Biography

Nihal Kularatna is an electronics engineer/academic with expertise in power electronic circuit design and supercapacitor applications. Known for innovative design capabilities as the NZ Engineering Innovator of the Year (2013) Nihal continues to invent new power conversion and protection topologies useful in renewable energy systems. With a Doctor of Science degree in electronic engineering from the University of Waikato Dr Kularatna continues to excel in research and developments in innovative supercapacitor applications and writing reference books for electronic engineers
