Dr. Pangkuan Chen is a chemistry professor with expertise in circularly polarized luminescent (CPL) materials of organoboranes and conjugated main-group aromatics. Known for the discovery of (chiral) azaboracyclophanes, as one of the pioneers, Pangkuan is dedicated to new pursuit of main-group chiral luminescent materials and open-shell polyradicals. With a PhD in organic chemistry from Rutgers University and a postdoctoral study at MIT, Pangkuan continues to excel in synthetic organic chemistry. He now serves as the director of Beijing Key Laboratory of Photoelectronic/Electrophotonic Conversion Materials. He has published more than 60 papers in reputed journals. His current research builds on organoborane chemistry, π-conjugated macrocycles, Near Infrared (NIR) circularly polarized luminescence, chiral radical chemistry and dynamic B/N Lewis pairs.
