Biography

Mr. Shivshankar is a prominent figure in the field of nutrition, serving as the Vice President of IAPEN India and the Asian Nutrition Society. With extensive experience and a strong background, Shivshankar has led various initiatives, including chairing the IAPEN Quality Awards Selection Committee and contributing as a Technical Expert Assessor for NABCB certification.

As the Chief Program Officer of IAPEN's Onconutrition Core Group, Shivshankar has been instrumental in advancing nutrition practices and is the principal author of the Onconutrition Guidelines. Shivshankar's expertise extends to serving as a Consultant at the National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health (NIRRH) and leading the Advisory Committee of the Poshan Dhara Association.

Shivshankar is also recognized for instructional design work, offering a Certificate Course in Onconutrition at Dr. BMN College in Mumbai. With numerous research publications and presentations at national and international conferences, Shivshankar has received accolades and awards at conferences like IDACON, NIN, CANREHAB, and ICNC.

An accomplished author and editor of two clinical nutrition books on ‘Clinical Nutrition in Cancer: Practical Guidelines and Dietary Recommendations’, and ‘IAPEN India’s Nutrition Care Process’. He has also been co author of IAPEN India’s consensus guidelines on various oncology topics such as Nutritional Management in Pediatric Cancers, Head and Neck Cancers and General Cancer guidelines. Shivshankar remains committed to mentoring dietetics, clinical nutrition, and nutraceutical students, making a significant impact in the field of nutrition."
